"The highs of being a mum are unreal - unlike any role I have done. Being a Mum has given me a whole new perspective on life. It has taught me patience, kindness and a whole new level of love.
My kids teach me new things about myself and have helped guide me as I have them.
The lows it can be pretty lonely especially moving over from the U.K and not having a family support systems. It's so important to reach out and push yourself to meet new people. Even before having kids making new friends isn’t always easy and after when you have your hands full with a little person and your not as self confident as you once were, it can make putting yourself out there even harder."
My passion project -
Mumee /bird Photography covering newborns, children, family & maternity and many more special moments. I am currently a lifestyle photographer so I take photos in the comfort of your own home or a special location that means a lot to you and your family.
I got the name from the way my son calls me Mumee and my last name is now Bird so it was a perfect fit. Whats different about my photography I keep going till I know I have captured the most beautiful moments and I will always go above and beyond for my clients.
A little bit about me - "I am a Mum of 2 little one’s under 2.5 years. I also work part time as a Newborn hearing screener at Hurstville Private Hospital. I love checking babies hearing and giving new parents joy of a positive screen but also guidance to the correct medical steps within their journey of parenthood. I have had a love and passion for photography for over 13 years, capturing all the little moments in life that make beautiful memories. Giving people this gift gives me an amazing sense of well being."
Meet local mum and dad Samantha and Andrew...
Hello fellow Mum’s and Dad’s of the Shire!
My name is Samantha and my husband is Andrew and our journey into parenthood started in 2017 in April when our daughter Maddison was born. That’s when life for both of us changed forever.
Looking after a newborn and still continuing day to day life is one of the hardest yet most rewarding things possible. We loved it so much we decided to go back and do it all again.
We welcomed our son Cooper into the world on 11th October 2018 so now we have joined the 2 under 2 club. Lucky my husband and I work well as a team and we have the support of family and other Shire parents.
We are very lucky to be living in the Shire, as there are so many opportunities and it’s a great environment to raise children.
We love going to Music Time at Kirrawee Public School and Rhyme Time at Menai Library. Also having a support network of other Mum’s on Facebook, Mother’s group and the local community is amazing. No matter what questions you have you always receive positive answers and feedback. We have a wonderful community here in the Shire so let’s stick together to make parenthood just that little bit easier.
